Gwangju Biennale, the artists

Dates:  September 8 – November 11, 2006 (Press Preview: Sep 7)
Venue:  Biennale Hall, Jungoei Park, Gwangju City, South Korea

Artistic Director: Kim Hong-hee
The 6th Gwangju Biennale 2006, entitled 'Fever Variations', consists of two comprehensive contemporary art exhibitions: 'The First Chapter_Trace Root: Unfolding Asian Stories' and 'The Last Chapter_Trace Route: Remapping Global Cities' (confirmed artists listed below). While 'The First Chapter_Trace Root,' composed of 4 sections- 'Myth and Fantasy', 'Nature and Body', 'Trace of Mind' and 'Past in Present' traces the root of Asian spirit running through contemporary art culture, 'The Last Chapter_Trace Route' examines the notion and reality of the city, tracing changes and mapping global simultaneity not only on routes across Asia, Middle East, North America, Europe and Latin America, but also intercontinentally.
