Inspired to study art since first grade, pursued learning art drawing and painting mediums, techniques and history during youth and teen years. After graduating from Art and Design high school 1965, I continued independent study during two year military service in southeast Asia. I developed knowledge of Asian art and cultural history in Vietnam,Thailand,Hong Kong,Taiwan and Japan. Returned home 1969 and studied art at the Art Students League and worked part time as Graphic Artist.Accepted for four year study at the School of Visual Arts, graduate with Bachelor or Fine Arts degree in painting and environment design. Continued art work in abstract expression, hard edge and photo art styles, participated in group gallery art shows. Moved to Florida in 1986 and worked as staff photographer for Veterans hospital, developed skills in creative darkroom techniques. Was victim of major auto accident and had limited use of hand to paint for two years. Decided to move after hurricane Charley 2004 caused major roof damage to my studio area, and destroyed my major art work, materials and equipment from rain water and humidity. Sold house in 2006 and went to China to have new studio for art work and study Traditional Chinese Landscape painting with Chinese Master painter friend. I live in Chongqing City in southwest China.
