I paint with egg oil tempera on canvas and different qualities of paper. I also use sand and plaster with pigments.
I try to find an organic expression in my paintings and to achieve a fresh and simple style with quick, expressive strokes.

I often paint on horizontal surfaces rather than on the easel, painting in series.

My themes are based on things happening around me. Since living in Portugal I have been inspired by both the culture and stories from here.

My atelier has large windows allowing plenty of light. I can see people passing and they in turn can see me painting, which has resulted in many interesting meetings and a series of portraits.

Recently my subjects have been from the ocean: waves, sun, shadows, sand, wind and weather, after endless hours of watching my twins surfing on the waves.
