Kristine Taylor’s work addresses ruptures and unions along the interface of painting and sculpture through the lens of abstraction rooted in concepts and temporary structures. Her process originates in drawing as a way of dissecting structures and making "visual" gaps in perception and understanding. She pilfers awnings, nutty circus tents, structures found in leisure and war environments, for use in dramaturgical, often sexual, scenarios.
