I use a variety of media in my work, painting, photograms and also 3D pieces. Central to all my work is the theme of memory, absence, echoes and traces. Textiles and garments are my main inspirations. I incorporate prints from lace in my paintings. I produce photograms from garments, such as christening gowns and gloves, I capture a ghostly trace of them on to photographic paper. I have produced a series of 3D dresses from book pages and copper wire. Arranged in these garments are remnants and keepsakes from peoples’ lives - old photographs, buttons and keys. Lit from within they cast shadows, the presence of absence.
