Sherry Karver
Sherry KarverSherry Karver’s photo-based oil paintings expand
and shift the parameters of traditional photography by combining it with
digital technology, oil painting, and text, blending their boundaries to
create a new format. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including
shows at the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art, Morris Graves
Museum, and Santa Cruz Museum of Art. She is in over 150 private and
corporate collections, is included in "100 Artists of the West Coast",
and is represented by Kim Foster Gallery in New York, Lisa Harris
Gallery in Seattle, and Sue Greenwood Fine Art in Laguna Beach, CA.
Sherry Karver was born and raised in Chicago, Il. and now lives in
California.
She received her M.F.A. degree from Tulane University in New Orleans,
and has taught art at Laney College in Oakland, CA since 1987.
