Laura Schoonover

Laura Schoonover received a BFA in Fibers/Textiles with a minor in Metalsmithing and Ceramics from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

Schoonover creates mixed media sculpture, wall hangings and wearables. A variety of techniques are used to create the different works of art: weaving, metalsmithing, beading, quilting, felting, papermaking, silk painting and other surface design techniques.

Her work explores themes of spirituality, symbolism, history and self.

Schoonover’s artwork has been shown in juried and non-juried exhibits across the United States since 1986.
