Douglas Gordon earned a reputation for making art from preexisting materials, most spectacularly classic films. Gordon’s blatant creative "kidnapping" of movies is best shown in 24 Hour Psycho (1993), in which the effect of stretching the iconic Hitchcock thriller into a daylong and silent screening challenges our understanding of the original version and the psychic themes it probes. What is a poster and fine art print? Fine art printmaking is based on the concept of creating a master plate, known as the matrix. This is used to transfer the image onto paper. The printmaking process is generally a complex one, using a variety of different techniques, and medium, depending on the type of print. The artist creates different surface textures, color effects and forms, just as in painting, producing a unique work of art, defined by the artist’s style and personality. | ||||||||||||||
