Photo-Based Art on Paper
Pavel Rehurek’s Official Website.
“I have always understood good artist to be a ‘mirror’ to the world outside us and within – no comments and no statements, because what we create gets an interpretation anyway – by our artistic instinct, our subject or media we choose. Beauty has her own voice; I cannot speak for her.”

Pavel Rehurek’s representation in US.
“I came to reject being some sort of a mixture (e.g. artist-revolutionary, artist-preacher, artist-tutor), or commit myself to some conventional medium. As a contemporary artist I use new digital mediums and will always look for new frontiers. The outcome I print on paper”.
Rehurek in Europe
Pavel Rehurek’s representation in Europe.
“Photography is a mirror by its nature. My first childhood photograph was a black and white contact and when I have seen it my emotions were the same as those I much later found with a girl. Later I married and worked as a photographer. Then the digital era came and the same thing repeated – I altered my first snapshots in Photoshop and it gave me quite a severe ‘mid-life crisis’”.

James Rosenquist. Painting Below Zero: Notes on a Life in Art. “Frank, funny, truthful, ironic and in every way an entertaining account of one major American artist’s involvement in an art movement that interests everyone–and, more than that, of his own character. Jim Rosenquist is a true American original and his book ought to be read by anyone who wants to understand the last half-century of his country’s visual culture, high, low, and in between.” –Robert Hughes, amazon Iranian Photography Now, Phaidon Art, Parkett Magazine. |
