Mikhail Fiodorovich Larionov (3 June 1881 10 May 1964) was born to Fiodor Mikhailovich Larionov and Aleksandre Fiodorovna Petrovskaia in Tiraspol, Moldovia. He grew up under the care of his grandparents in Tiraspol, and was educated at the Voskresenskii Technical High School in Moscow. In 1898, Larionov was accepted to the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture. From the beginning, he stood out as a star pupil and in 1906, was invited to exhibit several items at the Union of Russian Artists and the Russian Art exhibition at the Salon dAutomne in Paris.
