Valery Koroshilov | the artist

Valery Koroshilov’s artistic practice spans across a wide variety of media and genres, which include Human Figure, Portrait, Homage to Old Masters, Still Life, and Decorative Compositions. Although recent Studio work is mostly commissioned by private and corporate clients, the artist is also involved in public art projects. His other activities include associate lecturing, research, creative production, workshops and master classes.  Participated in more than 100 exhibitions worldwide.

Artist’s Statement:

I believe the context of a painting only matters if it is inspired by the poetic intuition, and therefore, it is addressed to the poetic perception. I consider all my pictures the fragments of one continuous narration. Therefore, the same compositional principles are often used throughout the entire series. I paint simple objects and characters quietly interacting. I use them to indicate a certain attitude to the human emotion. 
I find it most challenging to express the subtleties of the human condition in the objects around. But when it happens, I find it also most exciting. That is where my inspiration comes from.
