During his studies in Venice Adami met Kokoschka and Matta. He showed his first single exhibition in Milan in 1957. In the year 1962 Adami married Camilla and settled down in Arona at the Lago Maggiore. In 1974 Adami moves to Bavaria where he and Helmut Heisenbüttel published the book “Das Reich”.
Adami is recognized internationally as an important European artist. Spaightwood has works from his three major periods of activity. In his early Pop-related works, he offers us views of isolated fragments of modern society in which objects are taken out of perspective and context to allow us to see them anew…
His most characteristic work, generally resembles comic strips, with solid outlines and flat coloring. Occasionally, his work also borders on Surrealism.
