Style and technique of the artist: Design, Painting, Constructivism, Futurism, Suprematism,
Popova, whose mature career spanned a brief 12 years, was an artistic equal to the better known Tatlin, Rodchenko, and Malevich. Strongly influenced by the French Cubists during a 1912 visit to Paris, she returned to Moscow to work in the new style, Constructivism, reflecting the changes wrought in Soviet thinking by the Russian Revolution. “Representation of reality—without artistic deformation and transformation—cannot be the subject of painting”.
