Momentan beschäftigt sich Baselitz mit Marcel Duchamp und dem Kubismus und arbeitet nach eigenen Zeichnungen aus seiner Schulzeit laut dem "Prinzip der inneren Notwendigkeit". Baselitz erhielt zahlreiche Professuren, derzeit unterrichtet er seit 1992 an der Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. Georg Kern was born in East Germany and he makes use of a pseudonym, Baselitz, taken from the town of Deutschbaselitz, where he was born in 1938.
