Fortunato Depero [30 March 1892 29 November 1960] was an ambitious futurist painter, writer, sculptor, and graphic designer. Fortunato Depero, both in his painting and in his poetry, took Balla as his starting-point. But his interest in poetry gave rise to a number of publications which enable him to be considered, not only a great painter, but also one of the most interesting Italian poets of the early 20th century. In 1916 he published the manifesto l’onomalingua.

He was born in Val di Non Fund March 30, 1892. In Rovereto, very young, he attended the Royal School of Elizabethan. In 1908, he was rejected entrance exam to the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
