On canvases steeped in the lush colors of tropical decay, mossy greens and faded oranges are prevalent shades. Kumar renders images resonating with religious, social, and cultural significance that invite multiple readings. In "Dos por Uno," the Spanish phrase "two for one" (culled from a Mexican swap meet sign) takes on a deeper, wry meaning.
