Art & Language est un groupe d’artistes britanniques conceptuels (à l’origine Terry Atkinson, David Baimbridge, Michael Baldwin, Harold Hurell) créé en 1968 autour d’une revue, Art-Language. Pour ces artistes, tout art visuel dépend conceptuellement du langage. Ils pensent l’art comme un lieu collectif d’élaboration théorique et pratique et contestent la position hégémonique attribuée à l’ordre du visuel et la conception idéaliste du créateur.
