Inaow, an ancient Thai text on the theme of female desire, is the narrative that Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook reads to the corpse of a woman in this video of a performance…

Biography and works
The air perfumed by death was so sad. Forcing herself, the weak one made the effort to be Giver. She then voiced a melodic strain:
"Andromeda the maiden of heaven, the one I love more than life, Not seeing your glorious face, deprives the full-moon night of its light."

Her most recent work
explores the relationship between one’s place of origin and the innate
desire to express individuality. She lives and works in Chiang Mai,
where she teaches at Chiang Mai University…

Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook’s six video projections were billed as being concerned with storytelling. A more specific characterization would point out the fact that the stories on view were told by six women, including the artist, and that each story was ostensibly about the teller’s individual experience as a woman…
