Conceived specifically for the former factory of Max Mara fashion company, now housing the Maramotti Collection, the large installation "Are We Still Going On?" by Kaarina Kaikkonen follows and accompanies the compositional structure of the building, an interesting example of brutalist and organicist architecture from the 1950’s. The artwork is composed of two symmetrical structures evoking the skeleton of a large boat.

Click to Enlarge! "Parallel Universe" is a body of work which Jules de Balincourt has created specifically for Collezione Maramotti. The five new paintings presented in the exhibition have never been shown before, and now become part of the Collection. As is often the case with de Balincourt, the paintings were all worked on at the same time, in the same studio, allowing them to gradually come into dialogue with one another as a direct result of his studio practice.

Click to Enlarge! The group exhibition shows the works of many of the US-based artists presented in Mario Diacono's book "Archetypes and Historicity / Painting and Other Radical Forms 1995-2007". The artworks are part of the Collezione Maramotti and were acquired by collector Achille Maramotti at the time when they were first exhibited. Among the artists on show: Ann Craven, Matthew Day Jackson, Jutta Koether, Jules de Balincourt, Pedro Barbeito, Kelley Walker, Wayne Gonzales, Lisa Ruyter.
