Click to Enlarge! Honoré Daumier (French 1808 –1879) was a French artist, who worked in the fields of painting, sculpture and printmaking. His works offer social and political commentary on 19th century France. The Royal Academy in London is exhibiting his work, through the end of January 2014. A very interesting catalog has been written on Daumier's work, in which the essayists question the sources of his work, his personal ambitions and his "modernity."
