Romano Vio's life (1913–1984) has been dedicated in its entirety to sculpture. His curriculum vitae abounds in commissions, competitions, prizes, exhibitions, without any interruptions except for the war. He had wrapped himself in a sort of golden cocoon in his beloved Venice. Maritza first started painting shortly before her third birthday, after seeing her Father work with brushes and paint. Through Elementary, she earned many art competitions working with modeling clay, and with that, a scholarship to go to college. She graduated with a BFA in 1985 and a MFA in 1990. Since 17, she was an art instructor for several institutions and for public schools; amongst those,Magisterio Nacional, La Universidad Veracruzana and El Instituto Veracruzano de Cultura. |
