Mircea Cantor was awarded the Marcel Duchamp Prize by the Association for the International Diffusion of French Art. The Romanian-born artist lives and works in Paris as well as Cluj. In addition to a solo show at the Centre Pompidou’s 315 space, the ADIAF has granted him approximately $49,000.
Since 2000. Placed under the auspices of a French artist considered to be "the" pioneer of contemporary art, it aims to support and promote the Fr ench art scene on the international market and encourage all of the new artistic forms that stimulate contemporary creation.
The Marcel Duchamp Prize is awarded to an artist residing in France. Every mode of expression, every discipline in the visual and plastic arts field is concerned including painting, sculpture, installation, photography and video.
