The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum or Guggenheim Museum as many people would call it is a world-
renowned museum that is located in New York. In 2013, it was said that it had roughly 1.2 million
visitors and has held the most famous exhibition in New York City.

It is best known for its expanding collection of paintings
and other works of art from famous Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern and contemporary
artists. Aside from the in-house and permanent collections, the Guggenheim Museum also holds special
exhibitions all throughout the year.

The Guggenheim Museum was established in 1939 by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Initially,
it was called the Museum of Non-Objective Painting and was later changed to Guggenheim Museum,
after the death of its founder in 1952.

The Guggenheim Museum was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Its design was considered to be “the
temple of the spirit” because of its cylindrical design. It has a wider top and a smaller bottom which

Due to its deterioration considering it has been in
existence for more than 50 years, the museum underwent to a major renovation particularly on its
exterior. The renovation was meant to repair the cracks as well and to modernize the details in its
exterior. The renovation took 3 years, from September 2005 to July 2008; it took that long because the
working team had to make sure that the condition is safe for the said renovation project. This has also
